‘Autozone the Police’ Graffiti on the Martin Olav Sabo Bridge
Taken August 2020
The Martin Olav Sabo Bridge carries the Midtown Greenway bike and pedestrian trail over Hiawatha Avenue and the METRO Blue Line tracks in Minneapolis. Built in 2007 and named for the longtime Minnesota congressman, the bridge links the Greenway to Minnehaha Avenue near the Midtown Farmers Market. The phrase "Autozone the police," written on its railing, refers to the AutoZone store on Lake Street that became the first building burned during the unrest following George Floyd's murder.
