Tokyo Big Sight is the common name for the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, a convention and trade show complex in the Ariake district of Koto Ward. The complex opened in 1996 and was designed by architect Kiku Mannouji, with the Conference Tower built from four inverted pyramid volumes set atop angular support legs. The tower houses meeting rooms and administrative offices separate from the exhibition halls that make up the rest of the site. Tokyo Big Sight ranks among the largest convention centers in Japan and regularly hosts Comiket, the country's biggest fan convention, along with numerous international trade fairs.
