Antiwar Protest Banners Prepared for the 2024 RNC Demonstrations
Hand-painted banners lay across the grass in Milwaukee ahead of protests timed with the 2024 Republican National Convention. The slogans—such as “March on the RNC” and “Join with us against warmongering”—were created by antiwar coalitions and grassroots organizers rallying against U.S. foreign policy and political militarism.
The banners’ bold red and black lettering, accompanied by imagery referencing Palestine and anarchist symbols, reflect the convergence of antiwar and pro-Palestine movements that framed much of the summer’s political dissent. Organizers from across the Midwest gathered for coordinated demonstrations in the city, part of a long tradition of convention-era activism stretching back to the 1968 DNC protests in Chicago.
